Over a million tourists a year pass through Siem Reap, making it the fastest growing place in Cambodia outside of Phnom Penh, the capital city. With a history dating all the way back to the year 802, visiting Siem Reap is a highlight for many people traveling through Southeast Asia… with a wealth of activities and attractions that go far beyond the ancient ruins down the road.
Day 1: Hanoi Arrival
Upon your arrival at Noi Bai International Airport and after clearing customs, please proceed to the Meeting Point area at “Gate 02” at the arrival hall of Terminal 2 to meet our local tour guide. Transfer to hotel for checking-in. Overnight in Hanoi.
Day 2: Hanoi City tour (B)
In the morning, you pay a visit to the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum complex to explore the architectural and historical aspects of Uncle Ho’s final resting-place. Just next door is Ho Chi Minh’s house on stilts and lying to one side of the Mausoleum is the One Pillar Pagoda, which was founded by King Ly Thai To in 1049 - the structure has become an important symbol for the people of Hanoi. Continue on to the Buddhist Tran Quoc Pagoda at West lake - one of the oldest pagodas in Vietnam, then Temple of Literature and Quoc Tu Giam, see Vietnam’s first university, constructed in 1070 - it’s gardens and well-preserved architecture will offer a relaxing glimpse into Vietnam’s past.
In the afternoon, you take a half day tour Hanoi including the Presidential Palace – a grand colonial
building that houses the living and working headquarters for the French Governor General of Indochina; Saint Joseph Cathedral – Hanoi’s oldest Roman Catholic Church which was completed in 1886 and emulate the architectural visage of the famous Notre Dame in Paris; as well as Hanoi Opera House – one of the most famous architectural landmarks of Hanoi. Later, continue on with a rickshaw around the heart of the old city; experience around The Old Quarter – a maze of quaint narrow streets dating back to the 13th century, each named after the craft or goods that was specifically traded there. Later, you enjoy the performance of Water Puppet Show. Overnight in Hanoi.
Day 3: Hanoi – Halong – Hanoi – Da Nang (B/L)
In the morning, you’ll be picked up at your hotel and depart for Halong Bay. Arrive at Tuan Chau port in Halong city. Get on boat and start discovering the legendary bay. Lunch will be served while cruising to the most beautiful areas of the Halong Bay. This is a great chance to enjoy the stunning scenery with amazing rock formations such as fighting cocks, incense Burner, and many other islets look like Duck, Dog, Thumb. The boat will pass by a fishing village and stop for kayaking by your own alongside limestone cliffs, through water caves, around the fishing village to discover the daily life of the fishermen living here. Bamboo boats are available for whom cannot do kayaking. The last destination of the trip is one of the most beautiful caves – Thien Cung Cave before cruising back to the harbor. Transfer directly to the airport for a short flight to Da Nang. Upon arrival Da Nang airport, you’ll be welcome then transfer to hotel for checking-in. Overnight in Da Nang.
Day 4: Da Nang – Marble Mountain – Hoi An (B)
In the morning, you pay a visit to Son Tra peninsula named as Monkey Mountain – the screen of Da Nang City. Visit Linh Ung Pagoda, where exists the highest Goddess of Mercy Statue of Viet Nam. The pagoda offers stunning views of Danang beach and Cham Islands in the distance. Pay a visit to the French & Spanish Cemetery, to the memory of soldiers of a joint expedition led by French admiral Rigault de Genouillly in 1858.
In the afternoon, you depart for Marble Mountain. Climbing Thuy Son (‘Water’ Mountain) by the stone stairs and enjoy the panoramic view of the nearby countryside, and visit Huyen Khong cave before entering Tam Thai and Linh Ung pagodas where you will be rewarded by great city views and amazed by the main cave which houses a beautiful Cham Buddha sitting under a natural shaft of light. Rest at the foot of the mountain, where you can visit Non Nuoc Stone Carving Village, where the local skillful sculptors create many marble products which are exported to many countries worldwide.
Later, you’ll transfer to Hoi An – the ancient town. Take a walking tour around the old sections charming and wonderfully preserved, combining Chinese, Japanese and European influences. You will explore the charms of this ancient town including Japanese Bridge, Phuc Kien Assembly Hall, Tan Ky Ancient House. You also enjoy a leisurely walk along the bank of the lively Thu Bon River, once a prosperous a prosperous and famous trading port.
Day 5: Da Nang – Ba Na Hills – Da Nang – Ho Chi Minh City (B/L)
In the morning, you visit the Ba Na Hills Mountain with 1487m altitude compared to sea level. You journey up a mountain by cable car to reach the second record of the world (the longest cable car a wired world: 5042m and an altitude difference between the two largest Ga 1292m). Stop in Station 2 with altitude 1.138m. Visit: Deer Park, The Quan, wine cellar Debay, nearly 100-year-oldtree… Visit Linh Ung Pagoda where Buddh Shakyamuni is 27m high. Visit the most highlight of Golden Bridge, at the height of 4600 feet (about 150m) above sea level, it combines eight sections and stretches 500 feet long. With a pair of giants, stone hands lifting a Golden bridge from the verdant hills of Danang. When visiting this, you will admire the whole infinite scenery and majestic nature of Ba Na Hills, sometimes, you also feel like walking on the clouds…
You have buffet lunch at restaurant, rest breathtaking scenery. In the afternoon, you take walk to explore the natural ecological Bana. Conquering the mountain 1487m high, the highest peak of Ba Na. You participate in the games in Fantasy Park – the third biggest indoor games zone in Vietnam with series of interesting games: 4 – 5D film, skiver, The death race, dinosaur park, etc. Back to your cabin down the mountain by cable car up, and say good bye to Ba Na. You transfer back to Da Nang for a flight to Ho Chi Minh City. Upon arrive at Tan Son Nhat Airport, you’ll be welcome then transfer to hotel for checking-in. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.
Day 6: Ho Chi Minh City – Cu Chi Tunnels – City Tour (B/L)
From Ho Chi Minh City we will head northwest to Cu Chi Tunnels, one of very few monuments remained from the Vietnam War. 200km of the tunnels, dug by hand and inhabited by the forces of the Vietnamese guerillas, are beneath the ground here and stretches from nearby the Cambodian border to the edge of Ho Chi Minh City, even covering a place that once was a US airbase. We can listen to our guides’ introduction about the traces, exhibits, old weapons here or crawl by ourselves several dozen meters inside the tunnel to get the real feeling of what the War had been in this land. Gradually we will find out the reason why Cu Chi is a symbol of the ingenuity, loyalty, hard work and determination of the Vietnamese. Lunch at local restaurant.
In the afternoon, you’ll take a sightseeing tour around the city visiting the War Remnants Museum – a comprehensive collection of more than 20,000 graphic photographs, military vehicles as well as weapons, documenting the horrors of Vietnam’s wars with both the French and Americans; and the Reunification Palace – formerly the official residence and administrative center of the President of South Vietnam until the fall of Ho Chi Minh City in 1975. Along the way, enjoy a photo stop at the iconic Notre Dame Cathedral as well as the General Post Office with its ancient French architecture; before embarking on a little bargain-hunting at Ho Chi Minh City Square or Ben Thanh Market – a bustling market that is popular among the native city dwellers and tourists alike, offering everything from souvenirs to clothes as well as local delicacies.
Day 7: Ho Chi Minh City – Mekong Delta – Siem Reap (B/L)
After breakfast, embark on a 02-hours journey to My Tho, a prosperous town of 170,000 inhabitants in Mekong Delta which is famous for its extensive orchards and immense rice fields. Enjoy a wooden boat ride along Mekong River through Bao Dinh Canal followed by a leisurely cruise around Dragon, Unicorn, Phoenix as well as Tortoise Islands. Bob along the tiny canals under shady palm trees; stroll through villages to learn about the daily lives of its inhabitants; and visit bee farms, coconut-candy workshop as well as sample freshly picked fruits at the invitation of friendly local farmers. After lunch, return to Ho Chi Minh City then take a short flight to Siem Reap. Upon arrival Da Nang airport, you’ll be welcome then transfer to hotel for checking-in. Overnight in Siem Reap.
Day 8: Angkor tour full day (B)
Breakfast at hotel, explore South Gate of Angkor Thom known as Big Angkor, 3km2 walled and moated royal city and was the last capital of the Angkorian Empire, The famous Bayon Temple was an architectural muddle, in part because it was constructed in a somewhat piecemeal fashion for over a century. Terrace of the Elephants is an impressive, two and a half meter tall, 300 meter long terrace wall adorned with carved elephants and gradual that spans the heart of Angkor Thom in front of Baphuon - huge temple mountain in the heart of Angkor Thom, Royal Palace Area and Phimeanakas - impressive rite and sandstone pyramid. Terrace of the Leper King is at the north end of the Terrace of the Elephants, a double terrace wall with deeply carved nag as, demons and other mythological beings. Last you will visit Ta Prohm temple which is a wonderful combination of human genius and natural beauty. Giant trees have grown here for centuries.
Afternoon visit Angkor Wat temple, the founder of the temple was Suryavarman II who reigned Cambodia from 1113 to 1152 and built the five towers in the 12th century to dedicate to the Hindu God Vishnu. The plan of the pyramidal conception of the temple combined with spaces, alleys, ditches is an ancient masterpiece of architectural design and construction. It is time to visit Pre Rup temple for a romantic sunset view. Overnight in Siem Reap.
Day 9: Siem Reap visit (B)
Breakfast at hotel, morning visit Floating Villages, located 10 kilometers south of Siem Reap! Take a ride in a traditional wooden boat on the Tonle Sap, the "Great Lake" of Cambodia and the largest in Asia. Here you’ll see plenty of examples of the Khmer way of life on the Tonle Sap. Then visit Wat Bo founded in the 18th century, a highly respected pagoda contains very unique wall paintings of the Reamker (Ramayana) that are said to be late 19th century. We continue to one of the city’s lively open markets, Psar Chars, also called the “Old Market”, where anything and everything is for sale.
Afternoon visit Wat Thmei (Killing Field) contains a unique glass-walled stupa containing the bones of victims of the Khmer Rouge. Some of the bones were recovered from a nearby well while others are the remains of soldiers who died on a nearby battlefield. Come back to visit the "Les Artisans d'Angkor – Chantiers Ecole" the Finest Authentic Khmer Arts and Crafts. Overnight in Siem Reap.
Day 10: Departure (B)
Breakfast at hotel, free leisure on own arrangement until time transfer to airport for flight onwards! On the way if there is time, we will visit Puok, the real and original place of the Artisans d’Angkor silk, where you will see the full process of silk producing, from the silk worms munch on the Mulberry leaves to spin their cocoons which used to make silk warp. You of course will see the weaving work and purchase the high-quality silk products as a beautiful Cambodia souvenir. Straight to Siemreap airport for your departure.
